In celebration of Flashlight Day, Underhill's Games will be open on Monday, December 21st from 12pm until 8pm.
For those who don't know, Flashlight Day is every December 21st, the longest night of the year and the day in which you are most likely to need a flashlight!

Ok, we're back! We have some stuff available for sale in the store right now, including:

So if you want any of this stuff, you had better make your way down and get them while you can! We have the ability to reorder most of these products, but they will be more expensive in the future(shipping fromm Deutschland, ya know!)
We also have demo copies of games that we wanted further feedback on to see if there is a demand for us to carry them in-store. These include: Stronghold, Hansa Teutonica, Days of Steam and Car(d)cassonne.
So this Sunday, November 1st, we are going to have a Essen Demo Day in the store starting at 12 noon and going until 8pm. There is no cost to you, so just come and play the new games and give us some feedback!

Day two is done and we have stopped to collect ourselves and take stock at what we have.
A quick side note to everyone out there that requested games from Essen. Unless you gave us money up front, we are not guaranteeing any purchase of your item(s) unless we have lots of extra cash(hah!), we know you very well, or we are alreadying picking up that item. Sending us a list with $200 plus worth of games and no payment means that we would *not* be spending money on items that we know we can sell in quantities.
So, this is a heads up that you might be disappointed when we make it home.

We got a few demos in between deals, unfortunately only one stuck out. That was Factory Manager from 2F Games/Rio Grande Games!
Factory Manager has the "Power Grid" tag stuck to the title, but it really isn't that similar. Yes, the phases seem similar and the art seems similar and the industrial theme seems similar, but it really is it's own game!
Players bid for the turn order to take actions of stocking the market with items for your factory, buy those items and getting paid for your efforts. Along the way, you must manage your machines, workers, production, storage and energy consumption.
The game is a good deal quicker than Power Grid, still has a lot of strategy, a little less number crunching and is quite fun! Look for it in just a couple of weeks!

Ok, after day one, we spent a *lot* of money really quickly, but it was all on stuff that we know our customers want! The following list is far from complete, and prices for everything have not been determined. You have beeen warned! :)
Let's see, there is:
Agricola: Farmers on the Moor - Why did we pick this up when it coming out here in the states from Z-Man? Well, we don't want to wait 4-6 more weeks and we know that neither do you!
Agricola: Various new pieces parts - There are the new resource pieces, the new player boards(nifty!), new player pieces(turquoise and yellow!), a new promo card, and a cute little bag to put your whatever in.
At The Gates of Loyang - This is the third game in Uwe Rosenberg's "Harvest" trilogy of games(Agricola & Le Havre the other two) and it is really quite good after the first play of a two player game! As of right now there are only 2000 copies printed in English, they don't know when they are printing more and we are bring some home with us!
Keltis & The Keltis Expansion - There are quite a few people who wanted copies of Keltis, so they will be showing up next week along with the expansion!
Sorry for there not being more Twitter updates, but as I discovered, T-Mobile's international data scam...err, plan is astronomically expensive. Just to let you know how expensive it would have been to update all these games via Twitter on their data plan, it would have cost me $500 to $700 to send all that data. I wish I was kidding, but I am not. So, look for a few Twitter updates sending you here to the UG front page daily!

We are headed to Essen, Germany for Spiele Essen, the biggest game fair in the world! Barratt and myself will be out of town for the next week, but fear not!, the store is still open normal hours!
While we are over there, we will be posting short reviews and pictures of new releases daily on our Twitter feed. We are going to try to concentrate on games that might not make it over here or won't be here in the US any time soon.

Planechase Release Event & Product

Wizards of the Coast has let it be know that the Planechase product that is being released this Friday, September 4th is of limited quanitity and, as of right now, only being printed once.
Because of this, we are initially only offering Planechase to the participants of the Planechase Release event, which is being held at 6pm on September 4th. Only one set per person and once they are gone, that's it! I really don't know if I am going to be able to get my hands on any more.!

The new deluxe foil set from WotC will be in *very* limited supply.

Ok, heads up everybody. If you would like to try and get your hands on a copy of Magic: The Gathering - From The Vaults: Exiled, here is how it's going to go.
First: There are no preorders.
Second: You must have a coupon from our Twitter feed. Yes, our Twitter feed. If you don't follow us on Twitter and you want a shot at a set, you best get crackin' and follow us. Instructions on how to do so are on Twitter.com and we are "UnderhillsGames".
Third: The coupon will be sent out on Friday, August 28th, sometime after 12:00pm.
Fourth: FTV:Exiled will be sold on a first come, first serve basis but only to those who have the Twitter coupon. No coupon, no product. You must print the coupon out and bring it in, so no screen shots and no, we won't print it out for you.
Fifth: We have a limited number to sell at retail price(no, I won't tell you how many) and once those are gone, they are gone. On a side note, we did get a lot more than From The Vaults: Dragons! :)

Ok, here's the scoop. We have introduced a new feature here at Underhill's Games, Coupons! Yeah, I know that coupons are nothing new, but they are for us! Not only do they allow us to offer discounts and special promotions to you, our customers, but they allow us to show you the usefulness of Twitter.
The first of our coupons is for $20 off a booster box of the new Magic: The Gathering core set, M10! We also already have a coupon celebrating the release of Dominion-Intrigue! But you can only get these coupons from our Twitter feed! Here is an example of what they look like.
Q: How do these coupons work?
A: All that you have to do is subscribe to our Twitter feed(more information below) and click on the link for the coupon that you want. Your browser will display the coupon and from there, just print it out and bring it in. Each coupon is unique, so copies of coupons will not be accepted. You MUST print out the coupon and present it in store!
Q: It sounds like you are trying to force us to use Twitter. Is that true?
A: Yep, it's true. Well, kinda true. We can't *force* anyone to follow us on Twitter. We sure would like it if you did and this is our way of saying thanks if you do. These coupons will be mentioned in other locations, but they will only be available via the Twitter feed.

In celebration of the relase of Player's Handbook 2, Worldwide D&D Day is this Saturday, March 21st.
We are running three slots of the module specially created for this event, "One Dark Night in Weeping Briar." This is a short adventure for up to 5 players. There is one slot at 12 noon, and two slots 3pm. Seats are given on a first come, first serve basis!
P.S. There is no "Electric Bugaloo" subtitle to the PHB2. But it would be really cool if it did.
